On Tuesday afternoon, September 19th, human remains were found in a field off of Highway 3 and Road 105 W, approximately 10 km west of Killarney.

Officers attended and were advised that workers were on site excavating gravel when the remains were discovered.

With the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services and an anthropology team, investigators determined that the remains appear to have been from an older burial plot. They are in the process of determining how old the remains are.

“A further examination of the area did not recover any historical artifacts suggesting that this was simply an older familial burial plot from some time ago,” states Sgt. Paul Manaigre, Media Relations Officer.
