Manitoba Hydro reports it had a 10 million dollar profit in the six month period that ended September 30th. That's up 2 million dollars from the same period last year.

The utility credits higher revenues from both domestic and export sales.

Manitoba Hydro anticipates a strong second half of the year and is projecting net income of 150 million dollars by the end of the fiscal year.

Hydro's net income of $10 million was comprised of a $34 million profit in the electricity sector and a $24 million net loss in the natural gas sector. The loss in the natural gas sector is the result of seasonal variations in the demand for natural gas and will be recouped over the winter heating season.
