Well over 300 grade 5 and 6 students were in Souris yesterday for the 6th Annual Southwest Water Festival.

The event was hosted by conservation districts across the region.

Jonathan Wiens is with Manitoba Water Stewardship. He was one of the 50 volunteers that helped stage the information day. He says it is a great learning tool for youth

Students toured through 14 information stations taking 10 to 15 minutes to learn about everything from water erosion and conservation to boar safety.
