Two CFL all-stars will be playing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for another season.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced that both defensive linemen Jackson Jeffcoat and Willie Jefferson will return for the 2022 CFL season.

This will be Jeffcoat's fifth season with the Bombers after being signed in 2017.

The 31-year-old defensive end from Dallas was set to become a free agent next month before being re-signing with the Bombers.

Jeffcoat recorded 26 sacks and 106 tackles in 52 regular-season games with Winnipeg and played a critical role in the team’s back-to-back Grey Cup championships.

Jefferson was set to be a free agent next month but the 30-year-old Beaumont, Texas native signed with the Bombers.

The defensive end was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in his first season in Winnipeg back in 2019.

The three-time Grey Cup champion and four-time CFL All-Star has 19 sacks, three interceptions and nine forced fumbles in just 32 games and also set a league record for defensive linemen in 2019 when he had 16 pass knockdowns.
