The Killarney Growing Project harvest was held on August 24th just north of town.
Farmers took off 120 acres of canola with proceeds going to the Canadian Foodgrainds Bank.
Dan Penner co-chairs the local growing committee. "We had lots of community support and the foodgrains bank is an excellent program."
Supporters showed up for a noon luncheon before the 10 combines hit the field to harvest the canola. This was the third year for the Killarney Growing Project. Last year's crop wasn't planted because of the moisture problems.
