The first significant snowfall for much of Southern Manitoba will start falling today, with general amounts of 10 to 15 centimetres expected. An Alberta clipper type system will reach the Brandon and Dauphin regions early this morning, Winnipeg early this afternoon, and the Whiteshell late this afternoon. The snow will then taper off from west to east tonight.

Total snowfall amounts are expected to range from 10 to 15 centimetres in most areas from the Trans-Canada highway northward to about a Dauphin through Gimli and Bissett line. Snowfall warnings are in effect for a number of regions in those areas. The highest amounts will likely occur over the higher terrain of Western Manitoba.
