The holiday season is upon us and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) hopes motorists do their part to keep the roads safe.

Drinking and driving increases during the holidays.

Danielle Lewis is President of the Brandon Chapter of MADD, and she says November marks the start of their Red Ribbon campaign. “This is a national MADD campaign that runs every year from November to January. Unfortunately, impaired driving rates go up during this time and I encourage you not to drive impaired because there is always another option.”

“Driving impaired is an option and a choice, it’s not an accident. Let’s make sure everyone has a happy holiday season with their family and please do not drive impaired.”

MADD works with police to hold check stops; they erected a Red Ribbon Tree in the Shoppers Mall in Brandon and have donation boxes out across the Westman region.
