The rural debut of the play Let Them Howl took place Friday night at the Manitou Opera House with actors and actresses from across Southern Manitoba participating in the production, including our colleague Robyn Wiebe from our
 sister station The Eagle 93.5.

The play is based on the infamous mock parliament that set the stage for Manitoba women to successfully win the right to vote.

Manitou's Belita Sanders was chosen to play the role of Nellie McClung.

Robyn also spoke with one of the men who acted in the play, Miami's Rob Riddell, who played the role of Robertson Jones... the personification of the resistance against women receiving the right to vote.

Let Them Howl was commissioned by the Nellie McClung Foundation, and was first performed last fall in Winnipeg.
