The 3rd annual Merry and Bright community celebration returns to Boissevain November 25th and 26th.

The program includes the lighting of the community Christmas Tree, singing, children’s activities and a Holiday Market at the Wildlife Museum.

Audrey Paschke is helping to organize Friday's program. “We’re kicking off the weekend and plan to gather in the brand new and beautiful gazebo across from the Sawmill. We’ll have the tree lighting and hot chocolate; hot dogs and chips being offered by Westman Animal Rescue as a fund raiser. The community choir will do a presentation and we’ll wrap it up with the parade.”

“BDO has been extremely generous and they’re letting us decorate the tree next to their business. It will stay in place and it’s a gorgeous tree and we'll light it up and leave it there.”

Organizers are still looking for entries into Friday’s parade.

“Friday’s program is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. and the evening will end with the parade, so I hope lots of people come out” said Paschke.

There’s no charge for Friday’s activities with free hot chocolate and cookies.

“The chamber of commerce has done a really good job of planning everything for Saturday with a whole day of activities. We’re glad we could work together to divide up some of the planning and we hope everyone has fun.”
