Manitoba Farmers With Disabilities is working on designing a new head office and conference centre.

The organization has purchased and will be renovating the former Tempo gas station on Highway 2 in Elm Creek.

"The facility will be home for our main office, as well we're hoping to have a couple rooms available for other groups to come and use," says Executive Manager Jill Stafford. "The vision for the organization is to provide an educational point for the public and the agricultural community, to have a place to discuss safety issues. We also want it to be a place where people could come for support group meetings."

They have hired an architectural technologist to design the interior. MFWD had been renting space in the facility for the last three years before acquiring it in mid-September.

MFWD was founded in 1997 by Neil Enns of Elm Creek.
