The Nellie McClung Foundation and Prairie Theatre Exchange (PTE) in Winnipeg are presenting Let Them Howl this Sunday, October 18th at the PTE. The reading is a re-telling and re-enactment of the famous ‘mock-parliament’ play that featured Nellie McClung and her peers in the Political Equality League.

The role of Nellie is being read by someone very close to the family, her youngest grand-daughter Marcia, who joined the Morning Show Thursday.

Before we got into the details of Let Them Howl, Co-Host Chris Sumner asked Marcia what she remembers of her grand-mother whom lived the next farm over when she was a little girl.

Let Them Howl is the kick-off to the 100th anniversary celebration of Manitoba women winning the right to vote. Marcia talked about how she became involved in the project which was written by Sharon Bajer.

With 100 years of history between today and when Nellie and others were fighting for the right to vote, has the importance of social justice and women's issues changed?

Tickets for Let Them Howl are on sale now, and are just $60 for adults and $20 for students. You can get yours by calling 204-942-5483.
