Boissevain-Morton's new Recreation and Parks Director, Wendy Giesbrecht, is looking forward to starting her new position in mid-October.

Giesbrecht says she's thrilled to be able to give back to her community through this new role.  In this position she will oversee all of the community's recreation activities, programming and management of the staff in the many areas of recreation.

"Extremely, extremely, excited to be working in my own community of Boissevain-Morton with this job title," she shares.  "I do bring with me several years of experience in both recreation and facility management, with respect to recreation.  I've got a huge passion for this community so there is nothing more flattering than being given the opportunity to do some recreation, with respect to management and facilities and programming as well."

Giesbrecht currently holds the position of Community Programmer, but will be transitioning to Parks & Rec on October 11th.  "Certainly, moving into Park & Recreation is a bigger job," she adds. "There's quite a bit more management and responsibility that way but I think it will be a fairly smooth transition."

"I do believe it will take a little bit to get my feet wet but its something I'm really excited to do!"
