The President of the International Peace Garden south of Boissevain hopes to attract VIA rail customers.

Ed Anderson has spoken with VIA officials about bringing passengers down from the River's station on overnight trips.

He says VIA representatives were extremely excited about the idea.

Anderson is also the Mayor of Boissevain. He says the entire region would benefit by having more tourists in the area.

Anderson met with VIA officials while he was attending the Communities in Bloom National Awards program in Halifax on the weekend.
