The provincial government is providing over 700 thousand dollars for a two year campaign which will raise the profile of Manitoba food products.

Stan Struthers, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives, says the "Buy Manitoba" campaign will make Manitoba products easier for consumers to identify.

"Buy Manitoba" is part of a larger five-year industry-led program to develop a branding and public-awareness campaign that helps consumers identify local foods.

Both the Manitoba Food Processors Association and Keystone Agricultural Producers welcome the program. Both organizations will be involved in implementing the initiative.
