The Province's pre-budget consutlations got underway yesterday with meetings in Brandon and Portage La Prairie.

 

50 people showed up for the Brandon session. Discussions focused on the economy and priorities.

 

Finance Minister Rosann Wowchuk was pleased with what she heard.

 

 

 

Darren Hardy is President of the Brandon Teacher's Association. He says the Province has traditionally been friendly towards eudcation.

 

 

 

Shoal Lake area farmer Don Yanick participated in Thursday's discussion. He says agriculture deserves more attention.

 

 

The Brandon pre-budget consultation was the first of 11 meetings being held as the province tries to gather feedback from Manitobans about their priorities with spending and taxation.
