On September 24 as part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), along with the assistance of Blue Hills Detachment, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the RM of Elton.

A male occupant in the vehicle attempted to flee on foot and was quickly apprehended by officers. He was wanted on five outstanding warrants and was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and counterfeit U.S currency.

Along with his five warrants the 30 year old man from Grand Marais, was also charged with Identity Fraud, Possession of Counterfeit Money, Possession of methamphetamine, Resisting Arrest and Fail to Comply x3.

He was remanded into custody.
