January 23, 2022

Police received a report of a dead deer on the middle of the road on highway 18 and wanted RCMP to attend as it was a traffic hazard.  Police attended and removed the same.

January 24, 2022

Police received a report of a collision when a vehicle hit something on Highway 18.The vehicle sustained minor damage - flat tire right side and possibly leaking fluids. Police attended scene to check for traffic hazards. No obstructions seen. The vehicle was off the road. Police put police tape around same and provided a phone number for tow company.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

January 27, 2022

Police received a report of mischief in Belmont.  The complainant declined to press charges.

Police received a dispatch at 4:49 a.m. to report that a vehicle had went into the ditch on highway 253 near highway 5 as a result of missing an animal on the highway. The complainant informed that he had a half tank of gas, dressed for the weather, had 70% on his phone and had called a tow truck. No injuries.

January 28, 2022

Police received a call to do a well being check in Killarney.  The male was located safe.

Police were dispatched to do a well being check in the Boissevain-Morton area.  Police attended and located the male safe.

Police were called for an uttering threats complaint in Deloraine. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

January 29, 2022

While on patrol, police came across pothole on highway 21 near Rd 135W near the bridge by Deloraine, MB.  The pothole had done some damage to vehicles that were there as well.  Police marked the area with a traffic cone to try and warn motorists and called highways to have the road repaired. 

Police received a report of defamatory libel in Hartney.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a complaint of suspicious activity near land location in the  RM Killarney Turtle mountain. The complainant reports that he saw two females in small white car, possibly a Ford with a Husky dog with them.  They told him they were lost, and then drove off back towards highway  3.  The complainant did not get a license plate. Police made patrols but were unable to locate.

Police received a report of young children driving skidoos on the roads and going through stop signs and not wearing helmets in Killarney. The caller was concerned for their safety. Police spoke with a parent advising her of the complaint.  The parent stated they do supervise them when driving.  Police educated them on licensing requirements for road crossing and helmets as per Off Road Vehicle Act and warned of consequences. 

January 31, 2022

Police received a report of stolen gas from a vehicle in Killarney.  There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of suspicious persons on property it the RM of Prairie Lakes.  It was determined that this was not a police matter.

Police received a request for a well being check in Killarney.  Police attended with Child and Family Services and the matter is being investigated.

February 1, 2022

Police received a report of a vehicle in the middle of the road on Highway 18.  Police attended and located the vehicle as a hazard.  The registered owner was contacted and advised he couldn't stay with the vehicle due to the temperatures and a tow truck had been called.  The vehicle was towed.

Police closed several roads in the area due to the blizzard.  Police would like to remind the public to have a winter survival kit in their car in case of emergencies.  If roads are closed, you may need to stay in your car until weather permits emergency services can get to you.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Phone Busters Fraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Phone Busters can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain RCMP will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
