Police received a report of a theft in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

February 15, 2022

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle near Lake Metigoshe.  Police attended and located the vehicle.  The vehicle was towed and the registered owner contacted who was believed to have entered into the United States without reporting at the border crossing.  The matter is under investigation.

Police were dispatched to do a well being check in Glenora.  Everyone located safe.

Police received a report of a blue truck on highway 23 partially blocking the lane of traffic.  No plate or driver description obtained by complainant. Patrols made on highway 23 in area but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Police received a report of an assault in Boissevain.  The matter is under investigation.

February 16, 2022

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in Deloraine.  This is an ongoing issue and the matter is under investigation with charges pending.

Police received a report of suspicious situation regarding stolen items in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area.  The matter is under investigation.

Police did a COVID compliance check in the RM of Prairie Lakes.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Boissevain.  The matter is under investigation.

Police were dispatched to a firearm/weapon offence in the Town of Killarney. The male suspect was located and arrested.  The matter is under investigation.

February 17, 2022

Police received a report of Liquor Act offence in Killarney.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received concerns of semi trucks and trailers speeding as they approach Boissevain from the north end of town.  Given the speed drop to 40 kms and close proximity to the school zone it is concerning, especially given this is prime time for students and families crossing the highway.  More patrols will be done in this area.

February 18, 2022

Police received reports of numerous accidents and vehicles in the ditch due to the weather.

Police received a report of a semi truck stationary on highway 3 east of Deloraine. Semi driver stated he was going to wait out the storm there, as it is still white out conditions. Semi driver did have enough fuel to last the night and was dressed for the weather, no report of injuries. Police advised unable to attend do too the white out conditions  and the semi driver was already informed to move to the side of the road.

Police received a report of a stranded driver on highway 10 just few miles south of Boissevain due to poor visibility. Police spoke with the driver who was safe, pulled over on the highway and had sufficient gas.

Police did a COVID compliance check in the Cartwright-Roblin area.

Police received a report of a semi driver who walked into a business unmasked and left without complying. The suspect was out of the business where he took a swing at the employee from a distance. The complainant did want charges and wanted to report the event as information purpose. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Highway 3, two miles west of the Highway 10 junction.  Vehicle was a white 4 door with unknown license plate.  Nobody was in the vehicle but the vehicles backend is on the road and the complainant is worried it will get hit. A second call came in and informed police they almost hit the vehicle requesting members attend and have the vehicle removed.  Police made patrols and did not locate the vehicle.

Police received a report with a time delay of about one hour.  The complainant reports that about 10 miles north of Boissevain on highway 10, two males got out of a 2000's Chevy Truck, black in colour, no plate was seen.  The male driver had yellow bandana and holding possible black shotgun.  Male passenger might have had a bat.  Both described as in their 30's, males, skinny, faces covered.  The matter is under investigation.

February 19, 2022

Police received a report of 2 suspicious vehicles near Centre Avenue at Manhattan Beach.  Two trucks in the area, one with lights mounted to the top and one with a bucket lift and complainant said there is no reason for anyone to be down in the area. Police confirmed with Manitoba Hydro of Power outages on Centre Ave and that trucks are working to fix the outage. The complainant was update.

Police did curfew checks on two individuals in Deloraine.  Fail to comply charges are pending.

Police closed several highways in the area due to poor visibility.

Police assisted with a matter under the Family Relations Act in Deloraine.

Police received a report of two vehicles in the ditch near Deloraine.  Fire was on scene and confirmed only one vehicle in the ditch.  The driver had a valid license but a warrant out of Saskatchewan. Police confirmed with Saskatchewan that the warrant would not be extended to Manitoba and the driver was advised to deal with the warrant upon return to Saskatchewan.

February 20, 2022

Police received a 911 call from a female driver who had slid off the road and are stuck in the ditch on highway 3.  Police attended and picked up the occupants and transported them to a residence in Boissevain.

Police received a report of a domestic assault in Killarney.  A female was arrested, charged and released on an undertaking with no contact with victim and will appear in court at a later date.

Police received a 911 hang up on transfer, the complainant wanted ambulance.  Ambulance confirmed they attended and police were not required. 

Police received a report of a vehicle rollover on highway 10 near Minto.  The accident was due to icy road conditions.  Fire attended and no injuries were reported. 

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Killarney when a male was yelling and screaming at house hold members and they want him removed. Police arrived at the residence the male had already left. 

Police received a report of a snowmobile collision in Turtle Mountain Park where the driver was pronounced deceased after having a head on collision with a tree. The matter is under investigation.

February 21, 2022

Police closed several highways as a result of road conditions.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Phone Busters Fraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Phone Busters can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain RCMP will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
