January 10, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter in Killarney.  The matter was unfounded.

While on patrol a vehicle was spotted in the ditch by police. Vehicle driver was in good health and was waiting for a tow truck . Vehicle driver informed police he went off the road when he did not see the stop sign. No indication of intoxication. Police observed a highway traffic sign at intersection 123W on highway 3 was blown over.

January 12, 2022

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Rossmore Avenue in Killarney. A newer dark grey Honda was parked across the street from a residence and just sat there.  Single occupant was a smaller build, Caucasian male in his 20's.  The male was looking around a lot and at his phone and when the home owner went outside to shovel, the male slowly drove away. Reported for information.

January 13, 2022

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle which the hatchback left open in the Pleasant Valley area.  The registered owner was contacted and advised all was well and the vehicle would be secured.

RCMP received a report of a fraud in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin, MB. The complainant called to report they responded to ad for a snow machine for sale, e-transferred $200 for it and have not heard back from seller.  The ad was on Hello Good Buy Pembina Valley.  Checks were negative for the suspect name,  phone and ad. The complainant was referred to Canadian Anti Fraud Center. 

RCMP received a report of Canada Border Services phone scam in the RM of Argyle.  No information was given to the caller and it was reported for information purposes.

RCMP were contacted to do for a well being check in Killarney. Everyone located safe and no safety concerns.

January 14, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter to a farm in the RM of Grassland.  The matter is under investigation.

While on patrol police came across a two vehicle collision on highway 23. Both drivers were pinned in the vehicles, air bags deployed in both vehicles. Police extracted driver of the  SUV and transported to hospital.  Statements obtained from both drivers - collision caused by vehicles crossing the center line due to blowing snow from a passing Semi.  Both vehicles towed off the road.

While on patrol police located an abandoned vehicle on highway 21. The vehicle was covered in snow, passenger side window broken. Keys still in vehicle. The vehicle was towed due to the registered owner not having a valid license and police are trying to contact the registered owner.

January 15, 2022

Police received a report of a vehicle rollover on Highway 3.  No occupants in the vehicle, no signs of distress. Police attended, located vehicle. No one on scene. Boissevain/Deloraine Hospitals checked - negative results. Police called the registered owner who advised her daughter was driving to work this morning and hit a snow drift. No injuries and vehicle was towed.

January 16, 2022

RCMP were called for a single vehicle rollover on highway 253 with the driver trapped inside. Fire Department, Ambulance and police attended. Alcohol not a factor, the male driver was driving back from Winnipeg to Killarney when he over corrected after going into a slide on an ice patch on the highway. No elements of any criminal offence or careless driving, no injuries.  The male was transported back home by police and the vehicle was towed.

January 17, 2022

Police received a report of a theft in the RM of Argyle.   There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a report of a pandemic breach in Ninette when 2 unknown males were seen going into a business without masks on, got back into the vehicles and left.  The company name on side of the truck was given to police.  Police contacted the company and spoke with Fleet Manager and was advised to relay to his crew working in Ninette, they are to wear face mask's when entering public places, or receive tickets for failing to comply with public health order.

Police received a report of a theft in Ninette.  The matter was deemed civil in nature.

January 18, 2022

Police received a report of trespassing in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area.  The matter was unfounded.

January 19, 2022

Police received a report that someone saw on Facebook that someone was driving while operating a cellular device on Highway 3.  After reviewing the video, it appears that it is mounted to the dashboard and is speaking while driving. It doesn't appear as though any offense has taken place.

Police assisted with a matter under Child Welfare Act in Boissevain.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked on Rossmore again. On-going issues with the vehicle coming and going. The license plate was obtained. The vehicle was located by police and the driver was located and works in the area. Nothing suspicious.  The complainant was updated.

Police received a report of an assault in Boissevain.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of two missing youth in Killarney.  Both were located a short time later safe.

January 20, 2022

Police were dispatched to a garage fire in Deloraine.  Deloraine Fire was on scene.  The building was fully engulfed.  Pickup truck, 3 motorcycles, snowblower and tools also consumed by fire. Fire was believed to be electrical in origin caused by the circuit near where the deep freezer was plugged in.  No injuries were sustained in the fire.

Police received a report of a missing female near Belmont.  The female was later located safe.

January 21, 2022

Police received a report of a fire just north of Cartwright.  Police attended and located a barn on rural property on fire. Barn was fully engulfed in flames. Cartwright Fire battled the blaze.  Fire advised the blaze was likely due to thin pipe in the chimney of the wood burning stove inside of barn that was giving off extreme heat. Not suspicious in nature. No injuries.

Police received a report of a male failing to comply with a court order.  The complainant was not cooperative with police and the matter was resolved without charges.

Police received a 911 call of an assault in progress in Deloraine.  The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of an assault in Killarney. Police attended and spoke with the complainant who had returned home - advised that he does not want charges, just wanted his belongings back. The belongings were retrieved.

January 22, 2022

Police assisted with a medical call in Deloraine.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Phone Busters Fraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Phone Busters can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain RCMP will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
