BOISSEVAIN NOTICE:

As of May 9, 2022 the Boissevain office with be without a Detachment Services Assistant as we bid farewell to Meaghan Potter.  We wish Meaghan the best of luck as she transfers to RCMP Headquarters in Winnipeg.  We will miss you Meaghan......especially Candace!!!

The Killarney office can be contacted for criminal record checks, complaints, hit and run reports etc.  Criminal record checks may take up to 4 weeks so PLAN ACCORDINGLY.  Members will still be in the Boissevain office as well to take criminal record checks and complaints but may not always be available during business hours.  In the event of an emergency, call 911.

Police received a report of a grey/silver Chrysler 300 driving north bound on King Avenue in Killarney towards the school at an extremely high rate of speed.  Police patrolled Killarney for an hour after the call came in, but did not locate a Chrysler 300.  No plate obtained due to high rate of speed.

April 27, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

The social insurance number scam is still circulating in the area.  Do not release any personal information to callers claiming to be from Canada Revenue Agency.

Police received a report of a fraud on Kijii.  The matter is being investigated.

RCMP were dispatched for a wellbeing check in Ninette.  Everyone located safe.

 

April 28, 2022

Police did a COVID compliance check in Killarney.

Police received a report of uttering threats in the RM of Brenda-Waskada.  The matter is being investigated.

Police received a report of speeding and not stopping at stop signs on King Avenue in Killarney.  More patrols will be made in this area.  This is school zone so just a reminder the fines are much larger$$$

 

April 29, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Boissevain.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, the Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Team (CREST), along with the assistance from officers of Turtle Mountain Detachment and West District Police Dog Service, executed a search warrant at a residence on Lennox Street in Goodlands, MB.  The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of several modified firearms, ammunition, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and drug related paraphernalia.  RCMP arrested a 40 year old male from Goodlands, who was later released for court scheduled August 9, 2022 in Killarney.  He will face charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking as well as several firearm-related offences.  RCMP continue to investigate.

Police received a report from a driver that they was "cut off" at an intersection in Killarney.  The suspect vehicle came to a sudden stop and then drove off instantly in front of them almost causing a collision. Police made patrols for suspect vehicle, silver/grey 4 door Chevrolet. The investigation continues.

Police received a report of 3 to 4 youths fighting at the Killarney school around 10:45 p.m. Police went to Killarney School and did patrols, neighborhood inquiries.  The matter is under investigation.

 

April 30, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter to a residence on Hossack Ave in Killarney.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of vehicles speeding and not stopping at the stop sign at Gaetes and Broadway in Killarney.  More patrols will be made in the area!!!

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian AntiFraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
