The following is the RCMP report to October 18, 2022.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 29 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 38 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 40 crimes against property

- 9 other criminal code

- 12 crimes against persons

- 4 traffic collision

- 1 Quarantine Act violation

- 7 other statutes

- 1 impaired investigation

- 1 drug investigation

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Good news......Boissevain RCMP now has a full time Detachment Services Assistant. The RCMP would like to welcome Samantha Dyck to our team!!  Born and raised in Boissevain, Samantha is a great fit for the community. The Boissevain hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Samantha will be away periodically as she gets all trained up for her new position. Welcome Samantha.

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers. 

 

September 13, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Family Law Act in Ninette.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Baldur.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Belmont. The victim requested no further action be taken.

 

September 14, 2022

Police received a report of a domestic assault in Hartney. One male was arrested for assault and released on an undertaking and will appear in court.

Health Canada sent RCMP 4 tickets totalling $20,006.00 to be served under the Quarantine Act in Deloraine.

 

September 15, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Ninette.

Police received a report of theft of truck in Brenda-Waskada. The matter was unfounded.

 

September 16, 2022

Police received a report of several break and enters to a campground in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in RM of Prairie Lakes and in Baldur.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in RM of Argyle.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Two youth were charged with minor consumption.

 

September 17, 2022

Police were dispatched to a two vehicle accident on highway 3 near Deloraine. Fire and EMS attended with Police.  A male driver was found to be at fault and was given a ticket for following too close and imprudent driving.

Police received a report of a theft of truck in the Cartwright Roblin area. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a theft of truck in RM of Argyle. The vehicle was later recovered.

Police received a report of a lost hiker in Turtle Mountain Park. Everyone was located safe.

 

September 18, 2022

Police were dispatched through 911 to report a male who would not leave a residence in Killarney. The male was on a peace bond not to have contact. The male was later located, arrested, charged and released on an undertaking.

 

September 19, 2022

Police received a report of theft in Hartney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of an assault in Killarney. The matter was unfounded.

 

September 20, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Hartney.

Police were dispatched through 911 that a semi unit with trailer full of pigs overturned on highway 5.  Police attended........oh let the jokes begin LOL.  Semi overturned due to road conditions and strong winds. 

 

September 21, 2022

Police received a report of mischief in Ninette in the Terry Fox Park. If anyone has any information, please contact Killarney RCMP.

RCMP were travelling westbound on #3 highway when a grey 2014 Jeep Patriot come up behind the police vehicle and then passed the police vehicle heading west bound. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver was issued a ticket for not having motor vehicle liability insurance. The vehicle was towed .

 

September 22, 2022

Police received a report of assault in the Boissevain-Morton area. The matter is under investigation.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Brenda-Waskada.

Police received a report of a theft in Deloraine. The matter is under investigation.

 

September 24, 2022

Police received a report of a missing youth who had not returned home and believed the youth was in Virden with a friend. Killarney RCMP was informed by Virden RCMP that the youth showed up at the detachment and will be waiting for a parent to get picked up.

 

September 26, 2022

Police received a report of a theft in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a theft in Belmont. The matter is under investigation.

 

September 27, 2022

Police assisted with a medical call in Killarney.

 

September 28, 2022

Police did a check well being check in the Grassland area. Every was located safe.

Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

 

September 29, 2022

Police received a report of theft in Killarney. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Killarney. The subject of complaint was warned to stop the behaviour.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. The complainant did not want charges.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in RM of Argyle.

 

September 30, 2022

Police received a report of an abandoned truck at a hunting trail in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police attended but the truck had no license plates on it. The vehicle was towed.

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. The victim declined to press charges.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney-Turtle Mountain area.

Police received a report of mischief in Hartney. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

October 3, 2022

Police received a report of speeding in Killarney during lunch break and after school. More patrols will be made in the area.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Hartney.

Police received a third-party report of a possible an assault in Killarney. Police located an injured female who indicated she had fallen and did not want to make a statement and maintained there was no assault.

 

October 6, 2022

Police received a report of mischief in Ninette. This was a civil matter.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Boissevain-Morton.

 

October 7, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter in Hartney. The matter is being investigated.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Ninette. The caller did not get a plate and just wanted police to be aware.

 

October 8, 2022

Police received a report of a theft of a quad in the Cartwright-Roblin area. The matter is being investigated.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Ninette. The subject of complainant was gone upon police arrival.

 

October 9, 2022

Police were dispatched to a fire in Cartwright-Roblin area. No injuries and nothing suspicious.

Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from Ninette. The vehicle was located in Saskatchewan and the matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of causing a disturbance in Killarney. An intoxicated male was lodged until the following morning.

 

October 10, 2022

Police received a report of mischief in Cartwright. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a break, enter and theft in Killarney. A trolling motor was stolen, no signs of forced entry, no witnesses and no surveillance video.

 

October 11, 2022

Police received a report of a fraud in RM of Argyle when an e-transfer was sent to someone pretending to be friend. Matter is under investigation. Police again remind the public to not send money, personal information to individuals unless you are certain it is legitimate. You need to actually speak with the known person you are sending the information to or you initiate the contact. Facebook messenger accounts are constantly being cloned and hacked so that it appears you are speaking with your friends but in actual fact, it is scammers who have created another account in your friends name.

October 13, 2022

Police received a report of a break and enter at Noble Lake. The cabin was unlocked and unattended, doesn't appear to be anything taken.

RCMP received a report of a cottage at Rock Lake that was broken into. Nothing missing.

Police received a report of a fraud in Deloraine. It was determined the scammers didn't receive any money and the credit card was cancelled by the complainant. 

Police received a 911 call of an erratic driver and possibly impaired traveling south on highway 10. The driver of the vehicle ran into the stop sign across from the Boissevain School. Police made patrols for vehicle and did not located the vehicle. The license plate was given to police but the complainant declined to provide statement.

 

October 14, 2022

Police received a report of mischief at the Ninette Cemetery. More patrols will be made in the area.

 

October 15, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Family Orders and Agreements in the RM of Argyle.

 

October 16, 2022

Police were dispatched through 911 of an assault in Deloraine. Two intoxicated females were each given disorderly contact in a licensed premises tickets. No assault charges laid.

 

October 17, 2022

Police assisted with matters under the Family Orders Act in Hartney and in Deloraine.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police received a report of causing a disturbance in Boissevain. The suspect was warned.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Ninette.

Police assisted with a neighbor dispute in Killarney. All parties encouraged to seek a Peace Bond/Protection order.

 

October 18, 2022

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The vehicle was damaged over night and the matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of theft in the Cartwright-Roblin area. The matter is under investigation.

 

Reminder:  It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian AntiFraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
