A new health study indicates a healthy lifestyle could do wonders for Manitoba's economy.
The report, released by a coalition of Manitoba health says inactivity, obesity and smoking will cost provincial taxpayers an additional $4.7 billion over the next 15 years.
Central RHA spokesman Denis Fortier says what's so striking about the study is how a 1 to 2 per cent reduction in those three risk factors could save reduce that cost by 3.5 billion dollars.

Fortier says the bottom line is that keeping people healthy is the most effective way to reduce health care costs in Manitoba.
