Three Manitobans have been invited to Hockey Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp. Calvin Pickard and Cody Eakin of Winnipeg along with Quinton Howden of Oakbank are among the 39 players who will be attending the camp from December 12th-15th in Toronto. Pickard has an 11-6-2-4 record and a 2.64 goals against average with the Seattle Thunderbirds. Eakin has 12 goals and 15 assists in 27 games with the Swift Current Broncos while Howden has 15 goals and 15 assists in 24 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors. The final roster will be named on December 15th. Canada will play it's opening game of the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship in Buffalo on December 26th against Russia.Canada has medaled at twelve straight World Junior Championships, including gold medal performances in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, silver medals in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2010 and bronze medals in 2000 and 2001.
