Stop us if you've heard this one before, but yet another Alberta clipper is poised to arrive in the province Friday evening with more snow and gusty conditions.

"This is actually the second consecutive day a clipper will impact Southern Manitoba, with a weak one causing the dusting of snow of somewhat windy conditions Thursday evening and this morning," noted CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "The low pressure system moving Friday night into Saturday morning will be more potent, not to the same extent as the blizzard we saw Monday and Tuesday, but strong enough to more than likely cause some travel impacts."

Environment Canada is calling for up to 10cms of snow by Saturday afternoon, with southerly winds picking up tonight with gusts up to 60 km/h.

"The gusty winds will last into Saturday morning, but are expected to diminish relatively quickly, becoming light by lunch or so," said Sumner. "There will be a period of blowing snow and reduced visibility Friday night into Saturday morning, but at this point we're not expecting the extensive near-zero visibility situation we had earlier in the week."

Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday will remain below average for this time of year, between -14 and -18. Averages for the first week of February are around -9 daytime and -18 overnight.

"This most recent cold snap is expected to break when we head back to work and school on Monday, with a westerly flow bringing Pacific air over the Rockies, and pushing temperatures dramatically upward," added Sumner. "Highs Monday and Tuesday are currently forecast in the -1 to +1 range, and there's even an outside chance of a shower or Tuesday as a low moves through.. After that initial burst of warmth, the long range models are showing a return to seasonal temperatures for the back half of next week."
