The Arts Council organization in the Westman Region collaborated to promote local arts and culture using the concept of a travelling tourism passport through their newly launched 'Westman Arts & Culture Passport Summer 2022'.

"We are so excited to launch our Westman Arts & Culture Passport!" shares Jane Ireland, administrator for the Heritage Home for the Arts and the Killarney-Turtle Mountain Arts Council.  "This is a collaborative project between Westman Regional Arts Councils and Organizations with a special nod to Wasagaming Arts Council!"

"Basically, the passport will take you around the region to see, not only the actual arts councils and art galleries, but also it'll tell you a bit about some of the special events that are going on in some of these towns," explains Ireland.  "Some of them are annual events, and some of them are new, so we hope people will take a look at it and take advantage of it!"

The 16-page booklet features a dozen art organizations throughout Westman and features either art and gallery events, or musical events coming to their areas this summer.

The Arts & Culture Passport can be viewed online through all participating arts organization websites and Facebook and Instagram pages, and for those who would like the actual hand-held booklet, they can be picked up at area art centres or galleries.

"With all of us sharing this on our social media, I think this will be shared far and wide because we all have lots of followers," adds Ireland. "So, I think we'll be able to attract people to our different towns, and to share all what our towns have to offer, particularly in terms of arts and culture."
