Mayor Don Yanick

 

The council for Manitoba's newest municipality will meet for the first time today.

The town and R-M of Shoal Lake amalgamated to form the municipality of Shoal Lake on January 1st. Former Reeve Don Yanick is the new Mayor.

 

 

Yanick says the new municipality should be able to run more efficiently and save ratepayers money.

 

 

Prior to Shoal Lake 10 other municipalities had amalgamated.
