Interesting forecast for the upcoming weekend with models backing off on precipitation. It does still look unsettled, though, with a chance of showers or thunderstorms in the region. Warmer weather returns next week with temperatures up into the low or mid twenties. For today, expect plenty of sun, a light south wind, and a high of 23.

A weak wave moves across the region tonight. Not much moisture to work with but there is a slight chance of showers. Tonight's low is 10. Tomorrow features a slight chance of a morning shower before skies clear heading into the afternoon. Expect a high of 23. Clouds increase tomorrow night ahead of a frontal boundary moving in from Saskatchewan. There is a chance of a shower or thunderstorm overnight with a low of 12.

Latest model trends have us "splitting the uprights" on Saturday. An upper low will be well to our northwest with a surface low developing somewhere in the Dakotas. While a frontal boundary is forecast to move through, we are going to be displaced from the best dynamics. With that being said, there is still a chance of showers in the region but it won't be a washout by any means. Saturday's high is 20.

Some wrap-around moisture affects us on Sunday. There's a chance of showers with the high reaching 20 degrees. Heading into next week, it appears a summer-like pattern is going to set up as a ridge of high pressure builds north into southwestern Manitoba. Monday features mostly sun and a high of 24.

We warm up some more on Tuesday. Expect a mostly sunny sky and a high of 25. A mix of sun and cloud is in the forecast for Wednesday with a high of 25 again. Models continue to show general troughing off to our west for much of next week. When combined with an expanding ridge, we may be entering into a more favorable pattern for some thunderstorm activity.

Gardens are in bloom across southwestern Manitoba. It won't be long until some look like the image below. While there are some showers in the forecast through the weekend, there will be plenty of sun to enjoy.
