Zane Sawyer drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Boissevain Centennials edged the Oak River Dodgers 9-8 in game one of their best-of-five Southwest Baseball League semifinal. Jordan Foote had four hits and three rbi for the Centennials. Ty Paddock and Kaden Rozdeba drove in two runs each for the Dodgers. Game two goes Tuesday in Oak River. The Deloraine Royals host the Hamiota Red Sox tonight (6:30 p.m.) in game one of their series.


Baseball Manitoba's Provincial 5U Tier One and Tier Two AAA Championships are on this weekend in Brandon. Oildome will face North Winnipeg and Winnipeg South. The 13U Tier One and Tier Two AAA Championships are in Altona. 


Addison Kartusch of Winnipeg is in a tie for 26th place heading into the final round of the 67th Canadian Junior Girls Championship at The Marshes Golf Club in Ottawa. Kartusch was even par 72 Thursday and is plus nine through 54 holes. Clara Peake of Binscarth was 76 and is plus 16 and Jeri Lafleche of Winnipeg was 77 and is plus 18.Yeji Kwon of Port Coquitlam is minus nine and has a four shot lead over Erin Lee of Langley.


The 117th Canadian Men's Amateur Golf Championship begins Saturday at the Point Grey Golf & Country Club in Vancouver and the Seymour Golf & Country Club in North Vancouver. Eight Manitobans are in the field including Brent Ingram, Curtis Markusson, Jack Werhun, Jordy Lutz, Marco Trstenjak, Nathan Wazney, Ryan McMillan and Troy Kehler.
