The Boissevain Centennials fell 7-6 in two extra innings to the Gladstone Pirates in Baseball Manitoba's Provincial 18U AA final in Brandon. Four other AA champions were crowned Sunday. The Winkler Royals downed host Hamiota 9-3 in the 15U final. The Altona Bisons outscored host Morden 14-9 in the 13U final. The Bonivital White Sox edged Mitchell 6-5 in an extra inning in the 11U final in Winnipeg. The Border League bounced the Elmwood Giants 15-0 in the final of the Provincial Senior AA All-Stars Championship in Morden. Southwest lost 9-2 to Elmwood in the semifinals. The 18U AAA (Tier 1 & 2) championships takes place this weekend in Winnipeg; the Provincial Senior A championship will be held in Wawanesa and Baseball Manitoba's Prospects Showcase will be in Brandon. The 13U AAA qualifier will be held in Niverville and the 15U AAA qualifier will take place in Ile des Chenes.


Three Softball Manitoba provincial champions were crowned Sunday. Central Energy defeated Smitty's Terminators 3-1 in the U19 AAA final in Portage. The Westman Magic lost 4-2 to the  Eastman Lightning in the 3 vs 4 Page Playoff game. The Winnipeg Lightning shutout Central Energy 7-0 in the U17 AAA final in Friedensfeld. The Westman Magic fell 9-3 to the Lightning in the 1 vs 2 Page Playoff game and then lost 16-11 to Central Energy in the semifinals. Imperial downed Keystone 16-4 in the U15 A final in Winkler. 


The Manitoba Junior Baseball League playoffs begin tonight as the defending champion Elmwood Giants face the Interlake Blue Jays at Koskie Field in game one of their best-of-three quarterfinal. The three other series begin Tuesday as the Altona Bisons host the Pembina Valley Orioles, the Carillon Sultans meet the St. Boniface Legionaires at Whittier Park and the St. James A's face the Winnipeg South Wolves at Optimist Park. 


Jhon Vargas, RJ Martinez, Bryan Blanton, Travis Seabrooke, and Tasker Strobel combined on a four-hit shutout as the Winnipeg Goldeyes defeated the Gary SouthShore RailCats 4-0 at Shaw Park. David Washington drove in Hidekel Gonzalez and Raul Navarro with a two-out single in the Goldeyes' three-run eighth inning. 


Team Manitoba lost 31-19 to British Columbia in the fifth place game at the 2022 Football Canada Cup. B.C. jumped out to a 28-7 halftime lead. Manitoba recorded one win and two losses in Kelowna. Saskatchewan defeated Alberta 13-1 in the championship game.
