The Killarney Shamrocks, Melita Bisons, Gladstone Lakers and Miniota/Elkhorn C-Hawks were winners in the Tiger Hills Hockey League Saturday night. Isaac Friesen scored twice in the third period as the Shamrocks rallied from a 2-0 deficit and beat the Hartney Blues 5-2; Lucas Oliver had three goals and an assist as the Bisons downed the Pilot Mound Pilots 7-3; Jacy Kennedy scored his second goal of the game on the power play 2:32 into overtime to lift the Lakers past the Deloraine Royals 4-3 and Shawn Bowles had four goals and five assists as the C-Hawks downed the Cartwright Clippers 16-3.


In the Westman High School Hockey League – Tyler Robertson potted the overtime winner as Boissevain/Souris shaded Roblin/Grandview/Gilbert Plains 6-5; Noah Street, Colby Asselstine, Ethan Hunter and Cooper Ashcroft scored two goals each as Birtle/Shoal Lake/Rossburn downed Deloraine/Hartney 8-2; Jake Kuzmiak had two goals and an assist in the Dauphin Clippers 6-3 victory over Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur; Tyan Mykula had three helpers as Swan Valley beat Virden 7-2 and William Janz scored the only goal of the shootout as Hamiota/Rivers/Elton/Strathclair shadedReston/Elkhorn/Melita/Pierson 3-2.


Grace Glover made 16 saves and Billie Baranyk had two goals and an assist in the Westman Wildcats 4-0 victory over the Eastman Selects in Hartney. Hayley Kolosky and Kelsey Huibers also scored for the defending Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League champions.


The Southwest Cougars gave up three unanswered third period goals and dropped a 6-4 decision to the defending Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League champion Winnipeg Wild in Souris. Nate Robson, Dawson Andries, Jayce Thompson and Jackson Kohut did the goal scoring for the Cougars who are one point back of the Interlake in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot. Southwest has five games left and the Lightning have four. The Cougars will play a pair of games against the last place Norman Northstars next weekend in Thompson.


Roux Bazin scored his second goal of the game with 1:16 remaining as the Virden Oil Capitals shaded the OCN Blizzard 2-1 at Tundra Oil & Gas Place. Virden’s Owen LaRocque made 33 saves.


Former Brandon Wheat King Jake Chiasson scored the go-ahead goal 3:21 into the third period as the Saskatoon Blades edged Winnipeg 3-2. Connor McClennon potted his 29th and 30th goals of the season for the Ice.


Zach Sanford scored twice including the overtime winner as the Milwaukee Admirals defeated Manitoba 5-4. Kristian Reichel had a pair of goals for the Moose who led 2-1 and 4-2 at the period breaks.
