The Deloraine Royals, Killarney Shamrocks, Rivers Jets, Gladstone Lakers, Minnedosa Bombers, Cartwright Clippers and Miniota/Elkhorn C-Hawks were winners in the Tiger Hills Hockey League Saturday night. Mitch Olson, Kolby Chen and Cody Gallant each had a goal and an assist as the Royals edged the Carberry Plainsmen 4-3; Reid Gow had two goals and an assist as the Shamrocks downed the Melita Bisons 5-1; the Jets were 8-3 winners over the Pilot Mound Pilots; Jesse Toth scored his third goal of the game with one second left in regulation and then potted the overtime winner as the Lakers shaded the MacGregor Wild 8-7; Matt Saler had a hat trick as the Bombers beat the Neepawa Farmers 5-3; Bryce Enns scored his third goal of the game 1:22 into overtime to lift the Clippers past the Wawanesa Jets 8-7 and Brad Bowles had three goals and four assists as the C-Hawks downed the Souris Elks 14-2 and improved to 12-0 on the season.


In the Westman High School Hockey League – Chris Cherneski scored five times and Ethan Keown notched his third goal of the game in overtime to lift Roblin/Grandview/Gilbert Plains past Boissevain/Souris 11-10; Connor Graham had a hat trick for the Broncos. William Miner had two goals and two assists in the Dauphin Clippers 5-2 victory over Birtle/Shoal Lake/Rossburn; Kash Henkelman had three goals and three helpers as the Swan Valley downed the Crocus Plainsmen 8-2; Porter Ewert had four goals and two assists as the Vincent Massey Vikings beat Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur 11-6 and it was Killarney/Wawanesa over Hamiota/Rivers/Elton/Strathclair 7-3.


Kelby Diehl, Regan Anderson and Jayce Thompson scored third period goals as the Southwest Cougars defeated the Interlake Lightning 5-4 in Souris in the hockey teams first game of 2023. Sebastian Stone and Ty Schell also scored for the Cougars who received a 36-save performance from Micky Gross.


Grace Glover stopped all 31 shots she faced as the Westman Wildcats shutout the Winnipeg Ice 2-0 in Hartney. Callie Hilhorst and Billie Baranyk did the goal scoring for the defending Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League champions.


Roux Bazin scored twice as Virden shaded the OCN Blizzard 4-3. Dean Gorchynski and Josh Lehto also scored for the Oil Capitals who trailed 2-0 five minutes into the game and lead 4-2 midway through the third period.


The Brandon Wheat Kings fell 6-2 to the Raiders in Prince Albert. Nolan Ritchie and Nate Danielson with his 20th of the season scored for the Wheat Kings. Nicholas Jones stopped 21 shots.


The Manitoba Moose gave up four third period goals and lost 6-1 to the Belleville Senators. Kristian Reichel had the lone goal for the Moose.
