The Winnipeg Blue Bombers face the Montreal Alouettes in the 110th Grey Cup today at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton. Receiver Dalton Schoen and linebacker Adam Bighill are game time decisions. Neither has practiced this week. Schoen missed Winnipeg’s last three games with an ankle injury. Bighill suffered a calf injury in the West Division final against the B.C. Lions. The Blue Bomber are the first CFL team to advance to consecutive Grey Cups since the Edmonton Eskimos played in five in a row from 1978-82.


The MHSAA hosted 16 varsity volleyball qualifiers Saturday. Deloraine girls and Wawanesa boys qualified for the Provincial A championships in Fisher River. The Boissevain Broncos advance to the Provincial AA boys championship in Ile des Chenes.


The Southwest Cougars rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Pembina Valley Hawks in Morden. Jack Clark scored a power play goal with 13 seconds left in regulation and Bryan Laing potted the winner 68 seconds into overtime for the Cougars. Jack Swanaepoel and Regan Anderson had the other Southwest goals.


Callie Hilhorst, Marlie Rutherford and Ivy Perkin did the goal scoring in the Westman Wildcats 3-2 victory over the Eastman Selects.


Eric Reid made 21 saves in the Virden Oil Capitals 3-2 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders. Trevor Hunt, Cole Slobodian and Nolan Chastko with his 13th goal of the season scored for the Caps.


The Virden Golden Bears scored seven times in the third period en route to a 10-1 victory over the Sandy Bay Badgers in the lone Westman High School Hockey League game. Thane Hayward had a hat trick for the Golden Bears.


The Brandon Wheat Kings lost 3-2 to the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference leading Medicine Hat Tigers at Westoba Place. Nate Danielson and Jayden Wiens did the goal scoring for the Wheat Kings who begin a four-game road trip next Wednesday against the Oil Kings in Edmonton.


The Winnipeg Jets wrapped up their five-game homestand with a 5-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes. Mark Scheifele had a goal and two assists for the Jets who have won six of their last seven games. Josh Morrissey, Vladislav Namestnikov, Mason Appleton and Kyle Connor with his 14th of the season also scored for Winnipeg. Jets netminder Laurent Brossoit made 16 saves.


The Manitoba Moose lost 7-2 to the Toronto Marlies. Parker Ford and Nikita Chibrikov scored for the Moose. The Marlies lead 3-2 and 5-2 at the period breaks
