The Major Pratt Trojans will meet the Boissevain/Souris/Deloraine/Waskada Broncos in the Westman High School Hockey League's consolation final. Tyler Huston had a hat trick and Xander Mecas had a goal and four assists as Major Pratt downed Birtle/Shoal Lake/Rossburn 7-3. The Trojans swept the best-of-three semifinal in two straight. Riley Davie scored 3:23 into overtime to lift the Neepawa Tigers past the Dauphin Clippers 2-1 in game one of their championship semifinal. 


The Oak Park Raiders are Provincial AAAA High School Hockey champions. The Raiders edged the St. Paul's Crusaders 2-1 Monday night at the Seven Oaks Sportsplex in Winnipeg. Oak Park's Nate Lodewyks was named the Tournament MVP. 


The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced its final Top 20 Rankings for the 2023-24 season on Monday. The rankings of the three Manitoba Junior Hockey League teams did not change from last week. The Steinbach Pistons are number three; the Winkler Flyers are four and the Virden Oil Capitals remain at number eight. The OCN Blizzard and Portage Terriers received Honourable Mention. The Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Collingwood Blues are the number one ranked team in the country heading into the playoffs. 


Connor Hellebuyck made 23 saves in the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 victory over the Washington Capitals at Canada Life Centre on Monday. It was Hellebuyck's fourth shutout of the season and 36th of his career. Neal Pionk, Alex Iafallo and Kyle Connor with his team leading 27th goal of the season scored for the Jets (41-18-5) who host the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.


Spence Mott of the Shilo Golf & Country Club has been named to Golf Manitoba's Team Manitoba roster. 24 Junior Boys and 15 Junior Girls will train and compete in various tournaments throughout the season representing our province under the guidance of Team Manitoba Boys Head Coach Sean Murray and Team Manitoba Girls Head Coach Bri-ann Tokariwski.


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American receivers Josh Johnson and Jaylen Hall. Johnson most recently spent time with Birmingham of the USFL, making two catches for 13 yards in four games, while adding three catches for 61 yards and one touchdown in the playoffs, helping the Stallions win their second USFL Championship. In 2022, Johnson spent most of the season on the Detroit Lions’ practice squad. Hall transferred to Western Kentucky for the 2022 season, appearing in 14 games and recording 68 receptions for 869 yards and six touchdowns. Hall previously played at Western Michigan from 2018-2021, totalling 85 catches for 1,532 yards and 14 touchdowns in 43 career games for the Broncos.
