The Brandon Wheat Kings play game four of their seven-game road trip tonight against the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Wheat Kings have two wins and a loss on the trip. Brandon defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 1-0 in overtime and the Tri-City Americans 5-2 before dropping a 3-2 decision to the Spokane Chiefs. 


The Winkler Flyers are the number one team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League's Top 20 Weekly Rankings. The Flyers, who have reeled off seven straight wins and are the only undefeated team in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, jumped from third to first in the rankings. The MJHL's West Division leading Dauphin Kings (6-1) remain at number 14. The reigning Turnbull Cup champion Steinbach Pistons received Honourable Mention.


The Winnipeg Jets host the Los Angeles Kings (7 p.m.) at Canada Life Centre. It marks Winnipeg's first game against former teammate Pierre-Luc Dubois who was dealt to the Kings this past summer in exchange for Gabe Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari and a second-round pick in 2024 NHL Draft. The Jets won their home opener 6-4 over the Florida Panthers this past Saturday. 


Team Canada is undefeated at the 2023 World Mixed Curling Championship at Aberdeen, Scotland. Skip Felix Asselin, vice-skip Laurie St-Georges, second Émile Asselin and lead Emily Riley of the Glenmore Curling Club in Montreal defeated Paulius Rymeikis of Lithuania 9-5 Monday and have a 4-0 record in Pool B.


Cricket is an Olympic sport again and flag football gets in for the first time. Five sports have been finally added to the 2028 Los Angeles Games by the International Olympic Committee. Baseball-softball, lacrosse and squash have also been included on the program. All five cleared a final hurdle Monday from the Olympic body's full membership.
