This week is the Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge where all Manitoba Foundations can each raise an extra $4000 thanks to the Winnipeg Foundation and the Provincial Government!
From November 13-19, for every $5 donated to your local Foundation, the Province and the Winnipeg Foundation will each donate $1. This, up to a maximum of $2000 for each entity and each Foundation.
"The Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge is an absolute wonderful opportunity where all Manitoba Foundations get to stand up and shout out to their communities the great opportunity to provide some fundraising efforts for ourselves," says Brandon Area Community Foundation (BACF), Executive Director, Laura Kempthorne.
Kempthorne is quick to point out that the money raised through the Giving Challenge goes directly into the unrestricted pot, so it can be allocated directly into community projects with few restrictions.
"For the BACF we will take those unrestricted funds and put them toward our community projects," she explains. "So, the more money we can raise for our community Foundations, it's going to be a win-win for all of us!"
"This is where we can go out into our communities and challenge our community members to help raise funds for their own community Foundation," she adds.
"This is a great way for community Foundations to band together and say, ''Take a look at us, this is who we are, this is what we do in our community, help us. Help us raise funds to make our communities a stronger and better place.'"
