Saturday, June 8th Report:

Summer Fair

At 7:50PM, Police at the Summer Fair located a 16-year-old Brandon youth wanted from an incident at a local school May 29th.  The youth allegedly was threatening other youth and was in possession of bear spray and a machete at the time of the incident.  He was released in the morning with a court date.

At 10:52PM, Police were called to the entrance of the Summer Fair.  Security had detained an intoxicated 20-year-old Brandon man for attempting to bring a replica handgun onto the fairgrounds.  He was arrested for possessing a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.  He was released with a court date when he was sober.

Utter Threats

At 1:09AM, a 31-year-old male was arrested 4000 block of Vitoria Avenue when he began honking and yelling at another driver.  He then got out of his car and began threatening the other driver.  He was arrested without incident.  The same male was identified as the suspect in a similar incident from April, when the staff at a local hotel were threatened.  At that time, the accused stated he was going to his car to get a gun.  He was charged for both incidents.  He was released in the morning with a court date.

Fail to Comply with Court Orders

At 8:58PM, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of 13th Street.  A 31-year-old male passenger was recognized by Police and known to be bound by a 24hr curfew.  He was arrested and found to be in possession of a small quantity of meth.  He was lodged for court in the morning.

Possess Weapon and Resist Arrest

At 1:30AM, Police were requested to a private residence for a disturbance.  An intoxicated 36-year-old male was located in the back lane and identified as the subject of the complaint.  He was armed with a screwdriver and resisted Police.  He was charged for possessing a weapon and resist arrest.  He was lodged to be released when sober with a court date.

Other Arrests

2 other subjects were arrested for being intoxicated and causing disturbances and were held until sober.

 

*** UPDATE Walmart Fire***

Members of the BPS Major Crime Section located and arrested 3 youth in relation to the fire on Thursday night.  2 of the 3 youths were charged with arson.

 

Sunday, June 10th Report:

Intimate Partner Violence and Utter Threats

At 1:05AM, Police received a third-party call from a parent stating that their daughter had just been assaulted by her boyfriend.  Police attended a residence on 26th Street and the female disclosed being threatened and assaulted by her partner.  She did not require medical attention.  The suspect, a 20-year-old Brandon man was arrested at the scene and lodged to prevent the continuation of the offence.  He will be released with a court date in the morning.

Warrants

At 8:30PM, Police on standby at the Summer Fair received a complaint of an intoxicated 22-year-old Brandon woman running into people with her stroller. Once located, Police determined that the stroller contained a toddler, and the intoxicated female was subject of an endorsed warrant of arrest.  Several attempts were made to turn both the female and the toddler over to family, unfortunately none could be located.  CFS was contacted to take custody of the child and the female was lodged to be released with a court date when sober.

At 9:20PM, while investigating an unrelated incident on 24th Street, a 24-year-old Brandon man known to Police, was arrested on the strength of an unendorsed warrant of arrest for multiple firearm related offences.  He was arrested without incident and was lodged for Court in the morning.

Fail to Comply and Resist Arrest

At 11:41PM, Police on standby at the Summer Fair, arrested a 21-year-old Brandon man, known to be on a 24hr curfew, for failing to comply with a Court Order.  While attempting to take him into custody he became resistive with officers and had to be restrained.  He was lodged for Court in the morning

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

At 2:56AM, a 33-year-old Brandon woman was stopped riding a bicycle in the 600 block of Louise Avenue.  The bicycle turned out to be reported as stolen.  The woman was arrested and released with a court date; the bicycle was returned to its owner.

Other Arrests

2 unrelated subjects were arrested for being intoxicated and causing disturbances.  They were released once sober.
