A group of teachers from China were in Boissevain Thursday soaking up some of the local culture.

The teachers are from Henan (hoo nan) Province and are studying English at the University of Brandon for three months. One of the teachers, who goes by the name of Lisa, says she has enjoyed her stay since arriving in September.

Another teacher named Cecily says she is very impressed with what she's seen of Manitoba so far...

In addition to visiting Boissevain, the group of 22 Chinese teachers also made a stop at the Iinternational Peace Garden south of Boissevain. Lynn Nichol, a teacher at BU who travels with the group, says the teachers take weekly day trips to communities in Manitoba.

Nichol says the teachers have already taken in some of the sites of historic Brandon, and had a chance to play some street hockey.
