On Sunday she won the 2011 provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Altona - then on Monday Cathy Overton-Clapham watched as the congratulatory e-mails poured in. Overton-Clapham along with third Karen Fallis, second Leslie Wilson and lead Raunora Westcott won the right to represent Manitoba at the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts later this month in Charlottetown thanks to a 7-4 victory over Chesea Carey of the Morden Curling Club. It's the seventh time Overton-Clapham has won the provincial ladies curling championship which ties the record held by Janet Arnott. It's also the second time Overton-Clapham has qualified for the 2011 national Scotties. She helped Jennifer Jones capture the 2010 championship in Sault Ste. Marie which meant a return trip as Team Canada - except Jones fired Overton-Clapham after the curling season and replaced her with Kaitlyn Lawes. Westcott and Wilson will be making their second appearance at the national Scotties. They played front end for Jill Thurston last year. Fallis competed at the 2002 championship in Brandon with Jennifer Jones.
