Recipients of 2010 Premier's Volunteer Service Awards

Do you know someone who has been actively involved in volunteer service? The 2011 Premier's Volunteer Service Awards will be handed out this April, and now is the time to nominate someone who's made a difference in your community. Annette Willborn, Director of Manitoba For Youth, explains they have three award categories to reach everyone.

The special awards dinner will be presented by the Premier in co-operation with Volunteer Manitoba. Those who improve the quality of life in our communities will be recognized April 27th, at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Willborn tells us they are currently looking for nominations.

The nomination deadline is February 18th and forms are available at www.manitoba.ca/volunteer.

Willborn adds hearing stories from across the province is a pleasure.

There are three award categories including 5 awards for individuals, 2 for youth under 25, and 3 awards go to community groups. Past winners have been honoured for solving a critical problem, organizing an activity which had a great impact, and inspiring the spirit of volunteerism in others. People have until February 18th to make nominations.
