After a disappointing year in 2021 snowmobile enthusiasts with the Tri Lake Trail Buster Club can now head out onto their trail system.

Recent snowfall allowed volunteers to get out with the groomers and to post signage so sledding could get underway.

“We definitely got some snow here and things are looking much better and we’re out and about grooming and getting signs put up for the season” said Club President Al Sampson.

The club maintains about 450 kilometres of trail system between Killarney, Baldur and Wawanesa.

“The base isn’t super great yet because the snow is fairly light and out in the open the fields are bare in spots but the bush area is quite good and overall I’d say we’re in good shape.”

Sampson expects by this weekend the club should have most of the trail system open.

“It’s nice to not have to travel and to be able to snowmobile right at home. When you license your snowmobile you get a pass and that’s good for all over Manitoba.”

Al Sampson says they have warming shacks but due to covid capacity is reduced but they are there in case of an emergency.
