Turtle Mountain Provincial Park is a beautiful place to hike and bike, canoe or kayak, or fish on one of there numerous lakes, perfect for a day-trip.  However, if you're wanting to immerse yourself more into the forests of Turtle Mountain, then you might want to check out the Turtle Mountain Adventure Huts.

Adventure Huts owner and Boissevain resident, Casey Guenther, says its been a slow spring with the cool, wet weather, but he's expecting a great summer ahead.  Guenther says he's been surprised at the number of visitors they've received from further away; many from the Westman Region, but also a good amount from beyond Westman, including Winnipeg.

"We opened up our huts just before Christmas and had a great winter up there!  We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of traffic that we got up there through January, February and into March.  We had a pretty great snow season that was great for trails for skiing and snowshoeing.  So, they were well-received and well-used," shares Guenther.

Two huts, with a third to be built in the future, can accommodate up to 5 people each.  Bar-b-ques, camp stoves, outdoor firepits and picnic tables are included in your stay.  "It's camping but it's made a little easier for those who don't have a camper or don't want to haul all of that around.  We provide all of that, you just bring your gear, your food and your bedding, and you're set up."

The huts are located on the main trail on Lake Adam.  A short drive to Lake Max and Lake William can add to the outdoor experience.    "It's a beautiful place to be, whether you're fishing, canoeing or hiking or biking, there's lots of great activities up there in the park!"
