On Tuesday, February 14, at 2:25 pm, an officer with Spruce Plains RCMP was westbound on Highway 16 when he came across a two-vehicle collision approximately eight kilometres east of Neepawa.

Investigators have determined that a westbound vehicle with two occupants, a 45-year-old female driver and a 16-year-old male passenger, had crossed over the center line and was struck by an eastbound SUV with two occupants, an 81-year-old male driver and a 75-year-old female passenger.

Both occupants of the westbound vehicle, from Neepawa, were pronounced deceased on scene. The two occupants of the eastbound SUV, from Plumas, were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Spruce Plains RCMP continue to investigate.
