An accident Monday east of Killarney took the life of Garry Strange.

RCMP say round 4:15 PM Monday emergency crews were called to the scene of a single vehicle rollover. Upon arrival rescue workers found the vehicle, a 1998 G.M.C. truck, on its roof submerged in snow. Initial investigation shows the truck had been travelling on a gravel road when it left the roadway, going into the ditch and rolling over at least once.

Strange, a local farmer, was the driver of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two family members were  passengers, a 9 year old and 6 year old boy were both treated at hospital for minor injuries

Speed, alcohol and road conditions are not considered factors in the incident. All three occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the rollover.

R.C.M.P. would like to recognize fire and E.M.S. for their prompt and immediate assistance, as well as the driver who stopped and provided assistance to the children.
