The Mayor of Melita wasn't surprised with what he heard in Monday's flood forecast from the province.

Bob Walker says his town is preparing for high levels along the Souris River.

 

 

Walker says the town will purchase pumps to make sure water flowing from the north, ends up in the Souris River and not sitting in the town's south end.

 

 

Brandon Mayor Shari Decter-Hirst says her city is preparing to deal with flood waters from the Assiniboine River.

 

 

Decter-Hirst says the city has concerns on two fronts, the river and overland flooding.
