The Premier was in Brandon yesterday to open the expanded Westman Laboratory.

Carmel Olson is the CEO of the Brandon Regional Health Authority. She says the original lab was built back in the 1970's to service Western Manitoba.

 

The project cost 12.2 million dollars and was paid for by the province. it included the addition of 10,000 square feet and renovations to and 9,000 square feet.

the lab provides blood and tissue testing, cell testing and preparation of blood and blood products for transfusion for 117 rural health care facilities.
