Westman Youth for Christ will be welcoming Manitoba singer-songwriter, Steve Bell, to the stage at the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church in Brandon in mid-September, this to raise funds for their programs that support the vulnerable sector of our young people.

Event Coordinator, Rena Booth-Navid, is Director of Uturn Ministries and Housing First, through Westman Youth for Christ.  "We look for sponsorship and fundraising through are community members, so I'm hoping that people come out and support us in impacting homelessness in our youth in the Westman area."

Navid says her family and Steve Bell have shared a special friendship over the past number of years, and to have Steve come to share his message in song with Brandon is truly a heart-felt event for her.  "Steve and I go way back. He was actually one of the first Christian musicians that I had ever met back in my day as a youth and so we've been friends ever since.  He has worked with Youth for Christ in the past as well a long time ago, and he is a wonderful man to give back to different non-profit organizations, especially this one.  I'm really thankful he's coming out."

"Our goal is to have 300 people attend, but I know the church holds 500," says Navid. "So, I have a big vision that we're going to be able to impact the youth here in Westman with asking the folks here to come out and watch Steve Bell.  I know he has a new CD out and some new music for us to listen to, so dream big, that's what I say!"

"If people are wanting to partner with us but not able to attend the concert," notes Navid, "we do take donations on a regular basis to help with the impact of ending homelessness in our communities, and we'd be happy to issue a receipt to those who donate," she adds.
