Brandon Wheat Kings captain Shayne Wiebe
The Brandon Wheat Kings opened their four-game road trip with a 4-3 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Shayne Wiebe scored twice for the Wheat Kings who trailed 3-0 after the first period. Scott Glennie had the other Brandon goal. Liam Liston stopped 36 of 40 shots. The Wheat Kings will face the Kootenay Ice tonight, the Calgary Hitmen on Friday and the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday. Brandon is three points back of the Hurricanes and the Prince Albert Raiders who are tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference.
