The president and CEO of the Canadian Wheat Board has been reappointed for another three year term.

Ian White first took the position at the CWB in 2008 after an extensive career as a senior agribusiness executive in Australia.

Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz also announced the reappointment of Oak Bank-resident David Carefoot as a Director of the CWB.

Carefoot served as Chief Financial Officer for Viterra prior to his appointment in 2008. He also served as a top executive with Agricore United and United Grain Growers.

The CWB is run by a 15-member Board of Directors, which is composed of 10 elected farmers and five appointees of the federal government. The President and CEO is appointed by Order in Council after consultation with the CWB.

Both reappointments are effective March 31, 2011.
