Last night Morning Show co-Host Chris Sumner MC’d a fundraising dinner which featured four time Grey Cup champion, and Canadian Football League icon Michael “Pinball” Clemons.

Clemons accomplishments on the field are too long to list, but include a a pro-football record for most career combined yards with 25,396, and retiring holding 12 team records with the Toronto Argonauts... not to mention winning the Grey cup multiple times as a player and coach!

Michael’s on field prowess was record setting, but his passion for motivating his teammates, and ultimately his players when he turned to coaching, is also legendary. It’s that ability to move people with his story of football, faith and family that led him to speak at the Salem Foundation Building for Tomorrow Gala Thursday in Winkler.

The conversation opened with whether Michael always lived his Faith front and centre, or if it was a conscious decision he made at some point.

Since Chris can remember, he’s been watching CFL football, always cheering for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. One of his favourite players of all time is Michael “Pinball” Clemons, so it was a real personal treat to meet him. The former Toronto Argonauts running back is considered one of the greatest of all time, and Chris asked for his perspective on Andrew Harris... the Bombers starting running back who is one of the greatest right now.

Chris tells us it was an absolute pleasure to meet Pinball. His love for CFL football began by watching him play after being introduced to the game by his Dad. Michael is a total class act, who is genuine in every way. Thank you for sharing your story and Faith!
