The St. Augustine School in Brandon has been VERY busy in February for 'I Love to Read' month! And, they have entered into CJRB's 'I Love to Read in the Classroom' Contest!
Mrs. Irwin has had a great time with her Grade 2 students really getting into the character of their favorite books!
"This month we have been busy with many “I Love To Read” activities," says Mrs. Irwin. "We chose a Robert Munsch theme this year. We love this Canadian author! We have read many of his books. We have had a pajama day and read with our buddies from Grade 5 with flashlights and stuffies."
"We also had a teacher swap where all the teachers swapped classes and read a Robert Munsch book to another classroom. We had a Robert Munsch dress up day where we dressed up as a character from one of his books," she says.
"We had a “Read With a Special Friend Day” where we had a grown up friend come to the school and read with us. Then we got to have cookies and juice! So far we have had a lot of fun celebrating “I Love To Read” month! We love to read!!"
